ABSTRACT

This study was carried out to examine the effect of two teaching methods of computer science on academic achievement of junior secondary school students in Enugu education zone  in selected secondary schools in Enugu Local Government, Enugu State. Specifically, the study examined   the effect of two teaching methods of computer science on academic achievement of junior secondary school students. And also, the length of impact of two teaching methods of computer science on academic achievement of junior secondary school students. And finally, to make recommendation for further studies based on the findings. It is believed by an author (named Nurk 2000) that successful investigation and implementation of findings shall go a long way in reducing little problems if any in effective of teaching methods.  in selected secondary schools in Enugu Local Government, Enugu State. The study employed the survey descriptive research design. A total of 30 responses were validated from the survey.  From the responses obtained and analysed, the findings revealed that teaching method  promote flexible thinking, furthermore, teaching method teach students the importance of shifting their approaches to different tasks. And finally, teaching method encourage independent learning. The study recommends that the teachers may be trained to know and employ the different concepts of learning in teaching different subjects in the class room. And also that Teacher Training institutions may organize workshops to train the teachers to use the reinforcement technique appropriately for improving teaching learning process in the classroom.
